‘The Southern International School is a good school’. These are not my words, although we have believed them to be true for a few years. These are the first words of our ISQM report. I am thrilled and proud to say that following our inspection last month, SIH has been awarded the ISQM Silver Award. This is a tremendous achievement for such a young school and represents years of hard work from everyone involved. It’s also a great achievement to be the first international school in the city to gain accreditation that meets the Ministry of Education’s standards and makes us full members of ISAT.
Our vision is to be the first choice of international school for parents in the region and we aim to achieve it by offering a safe, quality, learning environment at great value. This award will help parents make informed choices for their children based on quality as determined by external experts as well as what we say about ourselves.
The inspection report, which all parents are welcome to read, says that our students’ personal development and SIH’s partnership with parents are outstanding, but there is plenty of praise too for our owners, teachers, teaching assistants, administrative workers, support staff and parents who make up our SIH community.
Of course there are also things we need to improve, highlighted in the report, but we have already started work on them and will be striving for Gold in five years’ time. This award is the best end to a school year we could have wished for.
