Assessment routes at SIH

Pre-KG / Nursery (Age 3-5)
  • Teacher assessment throughout the year. Progress reports at the end of terms 1, 2 & 3.

Key Stage 1 (Years 1-2)
  • Teacher assessment throughout the year. Assessments at the end of terms 1 & 2, school exams at the end of term 3, progress reports at the end of terms 1, 2 & 3. Assessments are measured against IPC Skills for each year group (Milepost) and against National Curriculum levels for English and Maths.

Key Stage 2 (Years 3-6)
  • Teacher assessment throughout the year. Assessments at the end of terms 1 & 2, school exams at the end of term 3, progress reports at the end of terms 1, 2 & 3 . Assessments are measured against IPC Skills for each year group (Milepost) and against National Curriculum levels for English and Maths.

Key Stage 3 (Year 7 & 8)
  • Teacher assessment throughout the year. Assessments at the end of terms 1 & 2, school exams at the end of term 3, progress reports at the end of terms 1, 2 & 3 . Assessments are measured against National Curriculum levels for each year group.

Key Stage 3 (Year 9)
  • Teacher assessment throughout the year. Assessments at the end of terms 1 & 2, school exams at the end of term 3 in addition to the First external examinations Cambridge 'Checkpoints' in Maths, English & Science. Progress reports at the end of terms 1, 2 & 3. Assessments are measured against National Curriculum levels for each year.
 
New students entering Year 10
  • Students from Thai schools are welcome to study IGCSE's for 2 years, Students need to achieve at least 5 'C' or above grades in order to start an AS/A level course.

Key Stage 4 (Years 10)
  • IGCSE subjects : teacher assessment throughout the year. Assessments at the end of terms 1 & 2. School exams at the end of term 3, measured against IGCSE grading criteria. Progress reports at the end of terms 1, 2 & 3.
 
Key Stage 4 ( Year 11)
  • IGCSE subjects : teacher assessment throughout the year. Assessment tests at the end of term 1, mock exams at the end term 2, IGCSE exams at the end of term 3. Progress reports at the end of terms 1 & 2.
 
Graduating Year 11
  • At the end of Year 11 students receive a Graduation certificate from the school and IGCSE certificates from Cambridge International Examinations board (CIE) for exams that they have passed.

Current students continuing into Year 12
  • Students need to achieve at least 5 IGCSE's at Grades 'C' or above in order to continue into Year 12 and either start a 1-year AS Level course or a 2-year A level course. It is possible to retake IGCSE exams.
 
New students entering Year 12
  • Students from Thai schools who have not achieved 5 IGCSE's but wish to enter Year 12 must take an entrance test to determine if they are capable of passing at AS or A level standard. Students must complete 1 A level at C grade or above & 2 AS Levels at C grade or above in order to enter Thai International Universities, or pass 3 A levels at in order to apply to universities in UK, USA, Canada & Australia.

Year 12 taking 1 year AS Level course
  • Key Stage 5 (Year 12) Students taking the 1 year AS Level course will normally take a 4 AS level subjects and need to achieve 3 passes at grade C or above in order to enter Thai International universites at the end of Year 12. AS Level subjects Teacher assessment throughout the year. Assessments at the end of term 1, mock exams at the end of term 2, externally set and marked AS Level examination at the end of term 3.

Graduating Year 12
  • Students will receive AS level certificate from CIE for each subject passed.
 
Year 12 taking 2 year A Level course
  • Students taking the 2 year A Level course will normally take 4 AS levels in Year 12 and continue to take a minimum of 3 A Level subjects in Year 13. Three passes are normally required to obtain a place at a university in the UK, USA, Canada and Australia.

Graduating Year 13
  • Students will receive A level certificates from CIE for each subject passed.
